Wrinkles & Fine Lines

Fine lines and wrinkles are folds and creases that appear in the skin as a result of the aging process and other factors including lifestyle, environmental, and genetics.

Wrinkles are creases or lines that form in the skin and are found around the mouth, neck, and eyes. Wrinkles develop as we age, due to sun damage, stress, smoking and genetic factors. Over time, wrinkles deepen and persist. Initially, wrinkles are visible only when we move our facial muscles. These are called dynamic wrinkles. If not treated, they become present at rest and are called static wrinkles.

We offer anti-wrinkle injections for those who want to achieve beautifully natural skin by preventing or reducing signs of aging.

What are wrinkles and lines?

Fine lines and wrinkles tend to appear around your eyes and mouth from your mid thirties, as a result of a natural breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin.

Furrow lines: They usually appear as two deep grooves between the eyebrows, or horizontal lines across the forehead.

Frown lines:  These can look very similar to furrows and appear on the forehead between the eyebrows. Frown lines can arise as a result of a repeated facial expression.

Crow’s feet: These appear as multiple fine lines around the eyes due to smiling and the activity of the eyelid muscles.

Worry lines: These appear across the forehead as a result of the same facial expression when raising the eyebrows. Eventually these can become permanent lines.

How We Treat Wrinkles?

At Inner Glow AestheticsMD, we combine multiple methods for best and natural results. Using neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin) can help prevent the development of dynamic wrinkles and reduce the appearance of static wrinkles. Dermal fillers, Collagen induction therapy with microneedling, LaserGenesis, and Chemical peels can all be used to improve skin appearance and flatten the aging curve.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What do anti-wrinkle injections do?

Anti-wrinkle injections simply block signals from the nerve to the muscle. The muscles in your face can become more active over time and create a lot of movement. This movement then pulls and creases the skin creating wrinkles. These wrinkles and fine lines become deeper over time. The treatment is only temporary and this block breaks down naturally over time. Having regular treatments can result in a smooth long-lasting look with fewer wrinkles forming.

How long do anti-wrinkle injections last?

We offer anti-wrinkle treatments that last at least 4-6 months. Our years of experience means we can assess your skin properly and also the strength of your muscles and then work out the correct dosage for you. This will give you a smooth long-lasting look.

Our clients only need to come back 2 or 3 times a year. The length of treatment can also depend on how expressive you are, if you have a fast metabolism, and if you smoke or drink.

Are anti-wrinkle injections painful?

Anti-wrinkle injections can be almost painless if carried out delicately by an experienced practitioner. We use micro-fine needles which makes it a comfortable procedure. We are different to a lot of clinics that use the old insulin needles, which are larger and can cause more pain and bruising. We can also offer numbing cream for more nervous patients. When you book in simple tell us you’d like the cream and we can offer this to you on arrival.
